Henry Steel is portfolio manager of the Odey Concentrated Natural Resources Fund – a market neutral equity - long short strategy, launched in Mar - 2019, with a specific focus on the Natural Resources sector, broadly defined as mining, oil, gas, power, building materials and paper & packaging. The str ategy takes high conviction positions in companies and seeks to hedge out underlying commodity price risk as well as wider equity market risk. It looks to generate alpha via a concentrated book of equities, long and short, capitalising on Henry’s extensive knowledge of the sector. Henry joined Odey Asset Management in 2015 as an analyst covering mining, oil, gas, power and other utilities. After graduating with a B.A. in Economics and Management from Oxford University in 2011, he worked at Rio Tinto for o ver three years in the roles of Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer and as a special advisor to the Head of Corporate Development. He completed the Masters in Finance programme at London Business School in 2015 and has also worked at Maratho n Asset Management and GLG Partners as an analyst
